The Washington Business Journal (WBJ) released its 2021 Corporate Diversity Index of Small Companies in the Greater D.C. area, and Taoti Creative was the highest-ranking full-service creative agency on the list. The list rated companies based on the percentage of total employees who are people of color.
This is the first time the WBJ released a list focusing on corporate diversity in the DMV. “We plan for this to be an annual snapshot, to put progress (we hope) on display and highlight companies finding success,” said Vandana Sinha, editor-in-chief of The Washington Business Journal, in an article announcing the new Corporate Diversity Index in January 2021.
“A lot of companies are chasing metrics and statistics these days in response to various social and political pressures. And while we’re honored to be included in this list, diversity isn’t a numbers game for us,” says Brent Lightner, Taoti’s founder, and CEO. “Diversity is about creating a culture that genuinely encourages different perspectives from different walks of life. While we’re proud of the strides we’ve made to date, we continue to strive for even more balance and more inclusivity to ensure our culture and perspectives are as diverse as the world around us is.”
The Taoti team is comprised of individuals from eight different countries, something the company is very proud of. The award-winning team also grew by almost 40% over the past year, as the business expanded into new services areas like virtual events. More importantly, Taoti continues to expand the team with new positions open in most practice areas.
