PARK(ing) Day is coming to Barracks Row on September 15, 2023!

This Friday, the parking spot outside Taoti’s studios (507 8th Street SE DC) will be transformed into a mini-park for one day only. PARK(ing) Day is a global, public, participatory project where people across the world temporarily repurpose curbside parking spaces and convert them into public parks and social spaces to advocate for safer, greener, and more equitable streets.

Stop by between 9am and 7pm for relaxation, music, arts and greenery activities, and simply enjoying our urban outdoor space. Morning activities include coffee gathering and all-ages painting activity. In the afternoon, there will be a hands-on planting activity and a 4 pm violin performance by CHAW students. The fun continues into the evening at The 507 with flamenco dance and live jazz from 5 to 7 p.m.  Just follow the music and look for the open garage doors.

This is a FREE event and open to the public!  A cash bar will available from 5pm within “The 507” (Taoti’s event space).

PARK(ing) Day on Barracks Row is a partnership led by landscape architects Oehme, Van Sweden and Taoti Creative with support from Barracks Row Main StreetCapitol Hill Arts Workshop (CHAW)Bodegon Spanish Tapas, and Capitol Hill BID.
